Welcome to the new City of Douglas Sales Tax and Licensing Division!
On April 14, 2010 Douglas Mayor and Council passed resolution No. 10-778, which authorizes the City to collect its own sales taxes. If you are a business located or operating within City limits please be aware of upcoming important changes in the way you file your sales tax return.
***As of October 1, 2010 the City of Douglas is a “Non-Program” City and is now responsible for collecting its own sales/use taxes. Your business will file its first return with the City for the month of October, with the return being due on November 20th. If you haven’t turned in the questionnaire that was mailed to your business, please return it to the Finance Department as soon as possible so that we may have accurate information when mailing your sales/use tax return form.
UPCOMING SALES/USE TAX SEMINAR
The City of Douglas is hosting a free sales/use tax seminar.
WHEN: Seminars will be held on December 7th, 2011 from 3:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and December 8th, 2011 from 5:30p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
